Dictionary in ImTranslator Extensions

Dictionary is part of the translation extensions to provide words translations. When a single word is submitted for translation, the Translator turns into the Dictionary and displays alternative translations along with the part of speech and voice.  In addition to the translation variants, each dictionary entry  displays a set of reverse translations into the original language, if available.  To see dictionary’s translations, Dictionary must be enabled in ImTranslator Options. Dictionary is available in ImTranslator application, Pop-up Bubble Translator, and Inline Translator. ImTranslator Dictionary   During the dictionary’s translation, ImTranslator automatically switches to the first provider that supports a dictionary. If a translation provider doesn’t have a dictionary’s entry for a searched word, a regular translation will be displayed.The same regular translation will be displayed if a provider doesn’t support a dictionary. How to Play Voice in Translation Services

As you know, our Translation Services includes the Text-to-Speech functionality with multimedia contents. This functionality is supported by various players which can stream audio, or execute multimedia contents. Our translation services implement Adobe Flash Player and HTML5 player, and depending on the browsers, the voice can be played by either both players, or only one. The following browsers: Chrome, Opera, Yandex, MS Edge support both players, and you can easily switch between HTML5 player and Flash player on the fly.   Just mark the checkbox next to “Enable Flash Version”.  The Flash player will stream the voice, display the animated speaking avatar, and highlight the pronounced words.   The other browsers, Firefox, Safari and IE11, will steam the voice using Adobe Flash player only. Voice Feature in Pop-up Bubble Translator

In the latest versions of ImTranslator extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Yandex we added the voice feature in Pop-up Bubble Translator to the original text Even though you cannot see the original text in the Pop-up Bubble Translator, as the pop-up window displays the translation only, you can listen to the original text as well as its translation. listen to the original text by clicking the  Speaker icon, or the translation .   This feature is currently available for 30 languages. The following voices: American English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese Brazilian, Russian, and Spanish are provided by the ImTranslator TTS service. The new Webpage Translation module allows you to set up an automatic website translation. Save Recent Work

ImTranslator extensions for Chrome and Opera starting from the v.10.55 include the feature “Save recent work”. When you leave or close the translation application, your last work will be saved in the translation window.  This feature is very helpful when you are interrupted or accidentally closed the translation application with important work. The option “Save recent work” is enabled by default for ImTranslator application.   In the Pop-up Bubble Translator this option is not enabled by default. Text-to-Speech in ImTranslator

ImTranslator includes the text-to-speech functionality that converts text into voice for 30 languages. You can listen to the original text or its translation.  Click the “Listen” icon  to initiate the voice.   Available voices: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Latin, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese Brazilian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. These voices speak up to 200 characters at a time. In the Advanced Options you can set your preferences which TTS service to use: ImTranslator TTS or an alternative TTS service.  By default, the text-to-speech service uses a third-party voice server, which speaks 200 characters per request.
