Google Dictionary Introduction

Google Dictionary has been integrated with the translation extensions to provide words translations:

When a word is submitted for translation, the Translator turns into the Dictionary and displays alternative translations along with the part of speech.  In addition to the translation variants, each dictionary entry  displays a set of reverse translations into the original language, if available.
The translations are provided by the Google Translate dictionary.

The Dictionary is available in ImTranslator application, Pop-up Bubble Translator and Inline Translator.

Dictionary: ImTranslator

Dictionary: Pop-up Bubble Translator

Dictionary: Inline Translator

Dictionary displays:

  • Searched word.
  • Part of Speech for the translations, if available.
  • Set of Reverse Translations back to the original language.
  • Speak button which provides a spoken version of the original word and its translation.

The Dictionary covers over 90 language combinations with the English language and some other language pairs.

Use the Google (G) provider to see dictionary's translations. Other providers, Microsoft (M) and Translator (T), don't offer dictionary's translations.

If you select more than one word to translate, you will get a regular translation.

If the dictionary doesn't contain the word you want to explore, this word will be translated by the Google Translate service.
