ImTranslator Dictionary

ImTranslator Dictionary translates single words and displays alternative translations along with its part of speech.
In addition to the translation variants, each dictionary entry displays a set of reverse translations into the original language, if available.

During the Dictionary's translation, ImTranslator uses the first available dictionary.

To see dictionary translations, highlight a word and:
  • click  imtranslator-small ImTranslator  button on the Chrome toolbar
  • select  "ImTranslator: Translate selection" from the context menu
  • use shortcuts Ctrl+Alt+Z (default)

To change shortcuts to run ImTranslator application, use Options.  Learn how to work with Shortcuts.

To switch to the dictionary from the Translator mode, click the Dictionary tab.  The text from the Translator will be transferred to the Dictionary and shortened to 75 characters. Then, you can type in a word to explore through the dictionary.

How to enable Dictionary

The Dictionary is enabled by default.  If for any reason the dictionary is disabled, and want to turn it on back, go to the ImTranslator Options and mark the "Enable Dictionary" checkmark box.

Please note that the Dictionary displays translations for one single word. If you enter more than one word, you will get a regular translation without translation variants.

Dictionary mode vs. Translator mode

If you switch from the Dictionary mode to the Translator mode (by clicking the Translator tab), the searched word will be redirected to the Translator, and will display the regular translation of the translation provider you used before Dictionary.
